My Habitat and Niche

My Habitat and Niche

Hi, my name is Midori and I am going to tell you about my habitat, niche, and how I interact with others in my habitat/environment. First of all, you may be asking yourself, what exactly is a habitat and niche? To fulfill your curiosity, I will first tell you the meanings of these key words. A habitat is just the environment in which you live and a niche is the job or role you play in your environment. Most all plants and animals have a different environment, habitat, and niche. For example, my habitat is my home where I have my own room and area I am responsible for. So you can see, my habitat would very different from, say, a squirrel whose habitat would be the trees or forest. I share my habitat with my family and pets. This includes, my mom, step-dad, sister, and two dogs. My niche is my habitat or environment consists of things like cleaning my room, helping with the laundry, unloading the dishwasher, going to school, an committing to my sports. I have a similar niche as my sister who also has to empty the dishwasher, go to school, and attend some sports practices. My mom and step-dad niches are the most different than mine because they have much different responsibilities than I do. For example, they cook dinner, clean the house, and go to work everyday, none of which I do. Also, in the future, I see my habitat and niche changing. After high-school and college, I can see myself moving, which would change my habitat. I will also get a job and most likely start a family, changing my niche drastically. So you can see, this is my environment and the role I play in it.
